Was the raccoon deceased? Is it a fur in your grandmother's attic or something? Was it roadkill or something. I can not believe that you would skate up to any wild animal, so let's just hope that is not the case. If the critter is deceased, then there is no likely hood of you catching much from it.
And how do you ';accidentally'; lick a skateboard anyway?
You must come in contact with saliva and brain/nervous tissue to be considered as potentially exposed to an infectious medium.
The likely hood of you getting rabies from this contact is minimal if the animal was even alive. Go here:
http://www.cdc.gov/RABIES/exposure/types鈥?/a>Raccoon fur????? plzzz answer?
How the heck do you accidentally lick a skateboard?
Never mind. Rabies is carried in the saliva of the animal, not the fur. If you happen to experience pain, tingling, and or itching traveling out from your tongue start thinking about going to the doctor.
And stop licking your skateboard.
your mom will know. dude, I get terribly paranoid, too. if you are paranoid, ask your doctor. bacteria only survives for 17 hours. and how did you lick your board? xD that is a trick! hehe. anyways, you know that these answers will not really help you. the best thing to do is ask your mom, and visit your doctor if you are still worrying about it.
It would be extremely unlikely. The virus survives only for a few seconds outside of a body (answer in second source). It takes a bite or scratch to get it. It is only from a scratch if the animal has just licked its paw.
well if the racoon had rabies... ask your mom, if not, then no, because that does not create the rabies virus. its the right time to be a little paranoid
