Keep it warm - if anything's going to do it in, it will be shock. You'll know what to do afterward by what the vet says.
My sympathies to your friend and his pet.HELP! My friend's guinea pig was attacked by a raccoon!?
Just keep it warm. That's the MOST important thing to do if they are on the way to the vet.
Realistically though, it doesn't sound good.
Follow the vet's instructions carefully; however, given the extent of the injuries, you and your friend should prepare for the worst - your friend's guinea pig might not survive this incident. Good luck to you both.
I'm very sorry to say this, but with all of the things you explained, the vet might want to put it down. If he/she doesn't though, follow vet's instructions precautiously and carefully and give the guinea pig much much much much attention. If it lives, it needs love the most at a time like this. Good luck for the best!
Sounds grim. Sorry it happened to your friend's pet.
Racoons can be very dangerous. Walking down a sidewalk one afternoon, unaware that a racoon happened to be in the hedge next to the sidewalk, a pedestrian was attacked by the animal as she was walked pass. Racoon reached out and took a swipe at her.
We had had racoons climbing up the wall between our house and the neighbors and living in the neighbor's lightwell until the neighbor's son took over and screened it off years later. They moved in and stayed when neigbor's father started feeding them but at night we were always wary of them and kept our distance -- expecially when we could see pairs of glowing eyes looking at us. One night we made french fries and had our window cracked open. We didn't have a screen on it -- only security bars outside. Next morning, we saw little sooty finger prints on the window frame and sill below showing where one of them tried to open our window wider to enter our kitchen. They must have collected the soot from our kitchen vent pipe on the roof.
