They work if you tree a coon and need them to look at you.





I have talked to some guys who call coons in the winter when they start to den up from the cold. They locate den trees and then use the squaller. Sometimes a coon will come out to investigate.





It is hit or miss with these calls.How well do raccoon calls work? ?
We always used coon squallers when we treed with the dogs. It gets them to look down at your light so you can see their eyes so you'd actually know they were in the tree. You rarely see one at night unless it looks at you. Never heard of anyone trying to ';call'; coons in with them. I don't know why you'd really want to.
Like Luckyno7 says, that and some beer and sit around a campfire laughing and talking and they'll show up especially if its buy a creek with alot of rocky beach.... Oh, you got to do this at night !
I think you would have better luck with a can of sardines, or a package of hot dogs, and then wait.
Put out some bacon grease in a coffee can. You will attract raccoons.
